Maitlan E. Cramer

Maitlan, part of the founding team and a Principal of Grand Ventures, is responsible for managing all stages of the investment process from fundraising and transactions through portfolio management and exit.

Most recently, Maitlan was an Associate in the Technology Investment Banking Division of Wedbush Securities in San Francisco, a leading 60-year-old global full-service investment banking firm. Prior to Maitlan’s tenure at Wedbush Securities he founded MEC Strategies Group, a strategic consulting firm focused on helping early stage companies raise capital, refine strategy and focus, and accelerate business development.

Prior to founding MEC Strategies Group, Maitlan worked in San Francisco as an Analyst in the Technology group at Signal Hill Capital Group, a leading middle market investment bank focused on high profile internet and digital media, tech-enabled services, software, and telecom companies.

While attending the University of Denver, Maitlan was an FP&A Analyst for IQNavigator, a global leader in services procurement solutions through its vendor management system and managed services offerings, where he worked directly with the CEO and CFO to drive insight into client profitability by creating cost to serve and client profitability analysis’.

Outside of Grand Ventures, Maitlan serves as a member of the Board of Directors for School-to-Career Progressions and acts as a judge for several perennial Michigan startup competitions. He earned a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Denver and holds his Series 79 and 63 licenses.
