Robi Mitra

Robi Mitra is Managing Partner with ARM Equity, a newly formed family investment vehicle with more than $500 million of committed capital, Robi has advised on or participated in more than 75 transactions during his 22 years of operating, family office, private equity, investment banking, and capital markets experience. In addition to his role at ARM, Robi is Chairman and CEO of K&A Resource Group a human capital management solutions company he purchased from his father in 2016.

Previously, Robi was a Managing Director with Simon Group Holdings a family-office holding company founded by Sam Simon (www.simongroupholdings.com). In this capacity, Robi was responsible for all direct investment activity for the firm’s investments in direct private equity and real estate. In addition, Robi managed all M&A activity for the founder’s core holding Atlas Oil Company (www.atlasoil.com), including running the divestment of the company’s retail fuel distribution business; an $80 million transaction.

Prior to joining Simon Group Holdings, Robi was a Vice President with Questor Management (“Questor”) and Questor Enterprise Partners (“QEP”). Questor was a $2 billion institutional private equity fund that was winding down and Robi served as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the final portfolio company, Polar Corporation. In addition, Robi performed the annual portfolio valuation as well as managed LP communications. In his capacity at QEP, an independent private equity sponsor, Robi managed all deal sourcing, execution and diligence while also managing investor communication.

Prior to joining Questor, Robi was a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Expedition Capital Partners LLC, an independent private equity sponsor group focused exclusively on investments in lower middle-market businesses. While with Expedition, led the sourcing, capital raising and execution of a platform consisting of three independent companies in the contract security guard space and sourced an industry leading C.E.O. to run the platform; closing the transaction in April 2010.

Robi established his financing and capital expertise as an investment banker. He was Vice President at Livingstone Partners, a boutique investment bank with offices in Chicago, Dusseldorf, Los Angeles, London, Madrid and Stockholm. Before joining Livingstone, Robi spent more than six years as a middle-market investment banker at W.Y. Campbell & Company in Detroit, Michigan executing global sell-side investment banking assignments for clients in the automotive, industrial and distribution sectors.

Robi began his investment banking career at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. (formerly First of Michigan) and worked previously as a registered representative and financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (formerly Olde Discount Corporation) and Merrill Lynch, respectively.

In addition to his for-profit experience, Robi is an active member of three non-profit boards; the Tri-Community Coalition, Vehicles for Change and the Einstein Educational Ecosystem. He also has served as a past member of the board for Building Bridges and the Founder’s Junior Council of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Robi received his MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. Robi and his wife reside with their three young children in Clarkston, Michigan.
